New Vision Wilderness Research
New Vision Wilderness YOQ 2.0 SR Sample Size Data Report
New Vision Wilderness has utilized data from the Y-OQ 2.0 Self-Report assessment tool in order to
measure the effectiveness of its 21-Day Milestone Expedition as a viable adolescent treatment option.
The YOQ®-2.0 SR is designed to serve as an additional source of data in tracking treatment progress for
adolescents ages 12-18 receiving mental health treatment. To be clinically significant there must be an
18 or higher point decrease(improvement) between the pre and post scores.
A random two client sampling was taken from each of the seven 21-day wilderness expeditions
occurring between June and September 2010. The sample size includes 14 out of 46 total trip
participants.
Client self-report mean Y-OQ scores were 82.6 at admission and 56.5 at discharge, indicating an average
score reduction of 26.1 points. This demonstrates a clinically significant improvement after
participation in the New Vision Wilderness 21-day Milestone Program. Download pdf.
