Truancy Abatement Program
Truancy is an ongoing issue that is impacting schools throughout the nation. NVW truancy
program intervenes at the core school issues that create truancy for each student
individually. These interventions often include an in-depth examination of the family’s view
of education, school stressor identification, and stress management skills development
while immersed in a wilderness setting. Every student leaves our truancy program with a
School Intervention Summary. This summary includes recommendations which the school
and family can implement to more effectively manage the student’s truancy related issues.

At-Risk Youth Program: Master Minds Violence Prevention/Intervention
NVW excels at intervening with At-Risk youth populations that may be violent or bullying in
your school. The sources of these behaviors are individualistic in nature.  NVW targets
the core issues that are causing an individual student to act out. Our At-Risk program
targets core issues of family systems, anger management, Alcohol and Other Drug
Abuse, and more. This course utilizes cutting edge technology from HeartMath, current
brain research, and effective forms of psychotherapy.

Expulsion Diversion Program
NVW Expulsion Diversion Program is an effective program to offer as an alternative to a
permanent expulsion from your school. During their attendance students will be required
to complete workbooks and be involved in groups specific to the issue causing expulsion.
These programs range from Master Minds Rage Management to Alcohol and Other Drug
Abuse intervention. Youth are immersed in a face to face look with whatever school issue
is causing potential expulsion. Youth are returned to school with a School Intervention
Summary that contains recommendations for the student, family and school staff to
implement in order to prevent further potential expulsions. These programs are generally
offered in a 5 or 7 day format.

Staff Team Building
NVW staff will come to your school and work directly with the school faculty.  These staff
workshops offer an excellent opportunity to have fun while building staff cohesion and
exploring and discussing issues.  This individualized workshop is designed to target the
specific goals of the school.

Leadership Development Program
The Leadership Development Program at New Vision Wilderness is designed to transform
youth into more effective leaders. They will experience skill development in peer
mediation, stress management techniques and self-confidence building.

Our leadership development program is an excellent opportunity for highly motivated
students with a strong potential for becoming dynamic leaders. NVW helps strong
students become even stronger as they participate in experiential workshops, leadership
development curriculum, low ropes course initiatives, and extended wilderness trips.

We utilize goal oriented, team driven activities to build confidence, communication, and
trust in our participants.  Our experiential learning techniques build the group as a team,
and the individual as a leader.

Youth walk away from our program feeling empowered, more confident, and most
importantly... ready to Lead!
